Newman Popiashvili Gallery is pleased to present 7 artists whose work will be shown for the first time at the gallery. This winter group exhibition evolves around the idea of interior and exterior views of architecture and city planning.

Marco De Luca drawings are studies for his sculptural work based on the display cases and Michael Huey’s photograph of an interior reveals our desire to combine classic and contemporary styles. Heather Rowe both constructs and deconstructs architecture and as Simone Subal wrote about her work “Rowe’s work often oscillates between different polarities: minimal versus ornamental, or rough surface treatment versus carefully crafted interior section… The polarity is never resolved; on the contrary, Rowe’s works resemble open-ended sketches.” MP & MP Rosado’s initials MP & MP correspond to the twin Rosado brothers - their painted photographs of anonymous rooms blur the distinction between floor and ceiling. Chris Fennell meticulously cuts and collages paper onto doors, creating a drawing from architectural element. Kristina Solomoukha was recently featured in the 27th International Biennial of São Paulo and the Seoul Biennial 2006. Her aquarelle drawings refer to increasing industrial sprawl of contemporary urban cities.
